King John’s Castle in association with Limerick City and County Council, is delighted to host a special St Patrick’s Day celebration. Experience the enchanting sound of Ireland’s iconic harp in a captivating performance led by Dr Fiana Ní Chonaill and the Cuisle Harp Ensemble, honouring Ireland’s rich musical and cultural heritage.

Following the performance, Dr Ní Chonaill will give an engaging talk on the harp as Ireland’s national instrument and symbol, exploring its thousand-year history, UNESCO recognition, and lasting presence in Irish tradition, while honouring the generations of harpers who have preserved and passed on this unique art form. Join us for an inspiring celebration of music, heritage, and national pride.
